BCD launches multiple LED drive power solutions

Recently, BCD Semi has launched a series of high cost-effective solutions covering small and medium power applications for the special requirements of LED drive power supplies.

High power factor, low harmonic distortion LED lamp solution-AP1682

The traditional 40W fluorescent tube can be replaced with a 20W LED tube. Therefore, compared with traditional fluorescent lamps, LED lamps have obvious advantages in energy saving. T8 LED lamps have been gradually used in offices, supermarkets, buses, warehouses, garages and other occasions. T8 LED can be used as general lighting, display lighting or other applications.

For T-Light applications, some technical indicators are very important, such as total harmonic distortion (THD) and power factor (PF). Regardless of whether it is an active or passive approach, the T-Light drive must meet certain specifications.

Adopt AP1682 to realize the driving scheme of T-LED without using other technical means, can reach the performance index of THD "10%, PF" 0.95 under the condition of full input voltage.

Current T-LED solutions are available in end-mounted and back-mounted versions, and end-mounted designs are more difficult because length, width, and height are limited at the same time. Because AP1682 peripheral devices are simple, the chip uses source-side control technology and active PFC correction, eliminating the need for complex system design, so the system is small, and the design in the picture is a terminal T-LED design.

The power factor correction technology and constant current output technology used by AP1682 can be used in isolated and non-isolated topology architectures. The difference between the two solutions is the isolation treatment of the transformer, so the drive design engineer can design on the same platform.

Small and medium power, low cost LED lamp solution-AP1680 / AP1686

AP1680 / AP1686 is the most widely used medium and small power LED driver control chip. AP1680 / AP1686 adopts PSR control mode without optocoupler feedback. The power device uses triode driver, which greatly saves the cost of the system.

AP1680 / AP1686 can meet the requirements of 5% of the system in the constant current output accuracy, and the built-in frequency jitter simplifies the system EMI design. Using the same AP1680 / AP1686 can form different system architectures to meet the requirements of isolation and non-isolation. AP1680 / AP1686 is available in SOT23-6 package.

Medium and high power PFC correction chip—AP1662

AP1662 is a classic active power factor correction chip. The working mode of AP1662 is critical conduction mode, built-in voltage reference with 1% accuracy. The starting current of AP1662 is 40uA, built-in totem pole output MOSFET driver, the current capacity can reach 800 mA.

The chip protection function of AP1662 is perfect, and the PIN pin of IC is processed to resist external impact, which improves the failure problem caused by chip damage in system production.
