The court ruled that PI did not infringe on the technical patents of Fairchild and its subsidiaries.

On December 21, 2012, Power Integrations announced that after more than two years of patent litigation, the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court recently ruled that Power Integrations did not infringe any technical patents filed by Fairchild Semiconductor and its subsidiary System General.

The results of the ruling are consistent with the results of three patent infringement cases of Power Integrations litigation Fairchild Semiconductor and its subsidiary System General (SG).

In 2006, the US District Court found Fairchild infringing four Power Integrations patents and issuing a perpetual restraining order against more than 100 Fairchild infringing products. It was later determined that the infringement was a deliberate act and the amount of compensation was raised to $12 million. The case is still in the process of appeal. Also in 2006, the US International Trade Commission found SG to infringe two Power Integrations patents. Earlier this year, Fairchild was again found to have violated two patents that had been infringed by the District Court in 2006. Power Integrations is seeking additional compensation and restraining orders for the 75 Fairchild products associated with this decision.
