Difference between MST5C26 and MST5C16

In contrast, the new design MST5C26 improves upon the MST5C16 by integrating essential peripheral devices, significantly enhancing the system’s reliability. It includes 3A optimization, nine-band equalization, black and white level extension, universal lock, and hotel mode features. The indicator light now uses red light, which flashes during boot-up or when using the remote control. After power-on, the light turns off, ensuring it doesn’t interfere with the user’s viewing experience. In standby mode, the light remains on, allowing users to easily identify the device’s status. The overall machine state linearity and image sharpness have been greatly improved.
Most of the video decoding functions previously handled by the LA76818 chip in the MST5C16 are now integrated into the MST5C26. The TV signal processing is managed by the TDA9885, while the MST5C26 also incorporates the original audio processor TDA7439, along with MCU, SDRAM, and SCALER components. The KA2500 has been replaced by the 8380, and the functionality of the TDA9116 is also included, focusing digital signal processing on two key chips.
The power supply circuit, EMC filter, and degaussing circuit are all carefully planned on a main board measuring 247x330mm. This layout helps prevent issues such as EMC interference, internal temperature rise, incorrect insertion, and reverse insertion.
