Hurrying Nichia Transfer Experience - Amazon Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 3 E-book Reader

Nija isn’t my first online shopping experience, but this particular transaction, especially in terms of speed, made me feel like I could conquer the world! It was so efficient that it felt like devouring an entire feast.

Reasons to Purchase:

After marriage, both partners are often preoccupied with work during the day and household chores at night. Over time, this can lead to neglecting personal intellectual growth. One way to counteract this trend is through reading, alongside advice from mentors and friends. Naturally, with a strong desire to read, many people find themselves exploring multiple avenues to satisfy this hunger for knowledge. Personally, I consider myself part of the bourgeoisie—someone who values intellectual pursuits.

In deciding on the model, I didn’t waste much time. The basic model lacked sufficient resolution and backlighting, while the higher-end models seemed excessive. Thus, I quickly settled on the Kindle Paperwhite. Price was the last consideration, and after weighing everything, I placed my order. Little did I know, this purchase would come with added benefits:

Haitao

Global Prime Day: Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite 3 e-reader is priced at 6980 yen (approximately ¥415). It features a 300 ppi ultra-clear display and comes with an advertising version, making it ideal for those bringing it back by hand. Amazon Japan is currently offering the Kindle Paperwhite (advertising version) for 6980 yen (Prime members), which is equivalent to around 415 yuan. This is the lowest price in all of Asia. For the same price, you could even get a light-free version domestically. Note that when purchasing, ensure the version is labeled “キャンペンン” (with advertising). This version is 20 yen cheaper than the ad-free version.

With this pricing, there was no hesitation—I placed my order immediately (I opened a trial version of Amazon Japan Prime, which explains why the delivery and logistics were so swift).

Shipping Kindle internationally can be tricky, but I’m used to using Quartet, which offers the postal shortcut (the most expensive option, with a 20-yen handling fee per item, though luckily, it’s fast). Fortunately, I managed to avoid any taxes. Quartet took four days from storage to delivery, depending on how close I am to major cities in China where there’s a lot of trade activity. During transit, there’s typically no need for land transport within China.

From these two images, we can see that it took seven days from Nija to Quartet to my doorstep (in reality, I received a starter version on the 10th, two days earlier than the Paperwhite, which took five days total). My 10th was still the next night!

Appearance Gallery:

Upon receiving the package, I was eager to see what was inside. Amazon’s packaging was pristine.

The front of the box had a plastic bag.

The back of the box also had a plastic bag.

Beneath the box, there was a seal with plastic tape.

Once the plastic bags and paper sleeves were removed...

A close-up of the seal.

5. The seal was intact and easy to tear off—just follow the arrow and pull gently.

6. A point to note here.

7. Beneath the machine, there were instructions.

8. Next came the charging cable.

9. In fact, there were two small booklets, one being a family portrait.

10. Though it looks like a book, it actually contains pages of content, albeit in multiple languages, turning it into a sort of guidebook.

11. This is another booklet included.

12. The size and weight of the machine are perfect for portability.

13. The back is sleek and simple.

14. Ignore the ink on my hand—it’s just practice with calligraphy.

15. The remaining steps involve setting up the device upon first login.

Experience and Feelings:

After using the Kindle for a few days, I’ve found it indispensable. It fits comfortably in the pocket of my western trousers (though technically, nothing should go in the pocket—it might ruin the polished look). Whether commuting or traveling, I can read anytime. Life with a Kindle feels far superior to using a phone or tablet. The battery life is excellent, and I rarely worry about running out of power. However, one minor downside is the delay in content delivery to the device. When purchasing a book from Amazon’s Kindle store, it doesn’t appear instantly on the device—it takes some time. Perhaps this is due to my lack of frequent purchases on the Kindle store page.

In Conclusion:

I won’t comment on the product’s quality—it’s beyond my expertise to critique such a renowned device. However, the service experience from Amazon Japan Prime and Sifang Postal Service was outstanding. The great price was a stroke of luck and timing. I hope everyone finds what they’re looking for!
