Create the future, light IT Aruba Sensor strikes

Recently, Aruba Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) announced its next wave of Mobile Engagement solutions. At the same time, it launched the industry's first cloud-based beacon management and analysis solution for multi-vendor Wi-Fi networks. With the popularity of the Aruba Mobile Engagement program, its deployment has grown in size and increased the complexity and challenges of IT management. The newly introduced AS-100 WIRELESS SENSOR (hereafter referred to as Aruba Sensor) can greatly reduce this overhead, making it easy to manage all beacons from a single location.

The small size of the Aruba Sensor supports dual-band 802.11n client RF and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) radio, enabling IT to extract beacon data to a centralized location, easily transforming mobile engagement proof-of-concept designs into fully rolled out Multi-site deployment. The Aruba Sensor plugs directly into an AC outlet and can listen to other Aruba beacons within 25 meters and report the data to a cloud-based platform via Wi-Fi.

Aruba estimates that a 1000 Beacon deployment can save approximately 48 hours in a signal maintenance window. This means that IT departments can manage and monitor beacon data more easily and cost-effectively, including: battery life, power settings, and software updates.

“More than 1,200 Aruba Beacons are deployed on our terminal equipment, which allows us to provide hundreds of indoor navigation services such as check-in, gates and baggage collection for passengers,” said John Newsome, Information Director, Orlando Airport Authority. “Since passengers are increasingly relying on mobile applications, the accuracy and reliability of our information has become especially important. To ensure accuracy, our IT staff must manually monitor beacons. This is a huge burden for such large-scale deployments. Since using the new Aruba Sensor, we have been able to manage beacons remotely, saving valuable time and resources."

Manage beacons remotely and extend mobile interactivity deployment over any Wi-Fi network. Aruba Sensor has the following three characteristics:

1. Remote Management Tools: Easily manage Aruba Beacon data such as battery life, power settings and security without having to visit the site.

2. Easily scale deployment: Transform the proof-of-concept design into a multi-site deployment by extracting beacon data into a centralized location.

3. Can be used on any Wi-Fi: no need to change existing Wi-Fi infrastructure; Aruba Sensor as a client to connect to an existing Wi-Fi network.

In this way, the company realized the "marketing creativity, IT is your way" brought by Aruba!
