As spring planting season kicks off, the time for aerial crop protection operations has arrived. With more new operators joining the field, it's essential to be aware of common risks and how to prevent them. In this article, we’ll go over some key safety tips to help you avoid accidents while operating your drone.

1. Power Lines and Cables
Staying clear of power lines and cables is one of the most critical safety measures. These obstacles can not only reduce operational efficiency but also lead to crashes or even electrical hazards. Before starting any operation, thoroughly inspect the area. If there are many poles or cables in the working zone, consider whether it’s safe to proceed. Plan your flight path carefully, marking potential obstacles and avoiding them as much as possible.

2. High-Voltage Lines
High-voltage lines emit strong electromagnetic fields and should be avoided at all costs. Flying too close can cause interference, leading to system failure or even power outages. Always maintain a minimum distance of 10 meters from high-voltage lines and never fly over them. In rural areas with lower voltage lines, make sure to set the drone to "hover" mode rather than "rise and hover" to prevent collisions with wires.

3. Tree Branches
Tree branches are a common obstacle, especially along field edges. Improper flying techniques can easily result in crashes. When planning your route, ensure that the drone maintains at least 3 meters of clearance from trees on both sides. This helps prevent unexpected collisions and keeps your drone safe during operation.
