At the same time, thanks to the installation of a “perspective eye” radiation sensor, the TIM can also perform radiation mapping and make it work. The personnel are always aware of the internal conditions of the LHC. If necessary, the staff can take the special small train on site for maintenance.

It is understood that there are currently two TIMs and related supporting scheduling equipment in the LHC tunnel for daily maintenance needs. The maximum operating speed of the TIM is 6 km/h, which means that it can circulate around the LHC in less than 5 hours. It is also quite efficient.
