In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the PX727-4K and explore its design, performance, and overall user experience.
**1. Design and Accessories**
The packaging features a sleek black glossy finish that immediately catches the eye. Inside, the projector is securely placed in foam to prevent damage during transit, along with a set of essential accessories: remote control, power cable, warranty card, user manual, and batteries for the remote.
The body design is compact and elegant, featuring a white matte finish. A golden ring around the lens adds a touch of sophistication, reminiscent of the iPhone’s Home button. The power button includes an embedded infrared sensor, making it easy to control from a distance. The lens has a focusing ring, allowing for precise adjustments, while the rear panel offers multiple ports, including two HDMI ports (HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4), VGA, audio, and USB Type-A. It's worth noting that only the HDMI 2.0 port supports 4K at 60Hz, while HDMI 1.4 is limited to 30Hz.
The monitor uses a backlit design, making it easier to operate in low-light environments.
**2. Performance Parameters**
The PX727-4K delivers impressive performance, supporting 4K resolution with HDR technology. This allows for enhanced detail in both highlights and shadows, providing a more immersive viewing experience.
**3. OSD Menu**
The projector offers five preset modes: Standard, Theater (default), Highlight, and two Custom options. The Theater mode is optimized for rec.709 color gamut, which is ideal for most home entertainment scenarios. The custom settings allow users to fine-tune the picture according to their preferences.
**4. Projection Quality**
With a throw ratio of 1.47–1.76, the projector can project a 100-inch screen from about 3.25 meters away. The high contrast ratio ensures deep blacks and rich details in dark scenes, while the color performance is vibrant and layered thanks to the RGBRGB color wheel.
**5. Heat and Noise**
Testing showed that the projector operates quietly in both standard and energy-saving modes. At close proximity to the vent, noise levels range between 45–50 dB in standard mode and around 40 dB in energy-saving mode. When measured from one meter away, the noise level drops to about 29 dB—significantly quieter than many 1080p projectors. Heat dissipation is also well-managed, with only a slight warmth detected after extended use.
**6. User Experience**
Overall, the PX727-4K is a compact and stylish projector that blends well into any home environment. With 2200 lumens of brightness, it performs well in typical living room conditions. The combination of HDR and dual RGB color wheel ensures excellent color accuracy, matching or even surpassing many 1080p models at a similar price point. Its quiet operation and efficient cooling make it a pleasure to use, and with 4K resolution, it stands out as the most affordable 4K projector currently available.
