4K projection as long as 7999, 1080P outlet where? Lower prices or delisting
In recent years, projectors have evolved beyond their traditional commercial use and have now become a common feature in many households. As consumer demand for high-quality visual experiences continues to grow, the resolution of display devices has also advanced rapidly. From 1920×1080 Full HD to today’s 3840×2160 4K ultra-high-definition screens, the image quality has significantly improved. However, the highest-resolution projectors available on the market are still limited to 1080P. The cost of 4K projectors, often reaching tens of thousands of yuan, has been a barrier for most consumers. This year, though, things have changed.
BenQ recently launched its Star Series 4K projector, bringing 4K projection technology within reach of more users at a price below 10,000 yuan. ViewSonic, a well-established name in video equipment, hasn’t lagged behind either. In early 2018, they introduced the PX727-4K, a more affordable 4K projector. Today, we’ll take a closer look at this new model and explore its features, performance, and overall user experience.
**1. Design and Accessories**
The packaging of the PX727-4K is sleek and modern, featuring a black glossy finish that exudes sophistication. Inside, the projector is securely placed in foam to prevent damage during transit. Along with the unit, you'll find a remote control, power cable, warranty card, user manual, and batteries for the remote.
The design of the projector itself is compact and elegant, with a white surface that gives it a clean, modern look. A golden ring around the lens adds a touch of style, reminiscent of the Home button on an iPhone. The power button includes an embedded infrared sensor, making it easy to control the device from a distance. The lens has a focusing ring, allowing for precise adjustments, while the rear panel offers multiple ports including two HDMI ports (HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4), a VGA input, an audio jack, and a USB Type-A port.
To ensure usability in low-light environments, the monitor uses a backlit design, which makes it easier to navigate the settings in the dark.
**2. Performance Parameters**
The PX727-4K supports 4K resolution and can output up to 60Hz when using the HDMI 2.0 interface, which is essential for smooth playback of high-resolution content. The projector also supports HDR technology, enhancing contrast and detail in both bright and dark areas of the image.
**3. OSD Menu**
The on-screen display (OSD) menu offers five preset modes: Standard, Theater (default), Highlight, and two Custom settings. The Theater mode is optimized for rec.709 color gamut, providing a balanced and natural picture suitable for most viewing scenarios.
**4. Projection Quality**
With a throw ratio of 1.47–1.76, the PX727-4K can project a 100-inch image from just 3.25 meters away. The high contrast ratio ensures deep blacks and rich details in darker scenes. The RGBRGB color wheel enhances color accuracy, resulting in vibrant and layered visuals.
**5. Heat and Noise**
During testing, the projector operated at around 45–50 dB in standard mode and dropped to about 40 dB in energy-saving mode. When measured from a distance of one meter, the noise level was only 29 dB—significantly quieter than many 1080P projectors. The heat dissipation system works efficiently, with only a slight warmth detected after extended use.
**6. User Experience**
The PX727-4K is compact, stylish, and easy to integrate into any home environment. With 2200 lumens of brightness, it delivers excellent performance in well-lit rooms. Its HDR support and dual RGB color wheel ensure that color accuracy remains strong, even when compared to higher-priced 1080P models. Most importantly, it offers true 4K resolution at a price point that is accessible to many consumers.
At just 7,999 yuan, the PX727-4K represents a major step forward in making 4K projection more affordable. For those who previously thought 4K was out of reach, this projector opens the door to a whole new world of visual clarity and immersion.
