Controlling the pouring temperature and speed is vital. For carbon steel, a typical range is between 1540°C and 1580°C. The casting speed should be adjusted based on the solidification requirements—faster for simultaneous solidification, slower for sequential solidification.

Pouring procedures also require strict adherence. For large and medium-sized castings, molten steel should be allowed to settle in the ladle for 1–2 minutes before pouring. After casting, pressure iron and box cards should be removed promptly to reduce shrinkage resistance and prevent cracks.
