Summary:

The BQ3055 device is a fully integrated, single-chip, group-based solution for battery power detection, protection, and certification of 2-cell, 3-cell, and 4-cell tandem Li-ion and Li-Polymer battery packs. Provides a rich array of features.

Using its integrated high-performance analog peripherals, the bq3055 device measures and stores the available capacity, voltage, current, temperature, and other key parameters of a Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery and reports this information via an SMBus v1.1 compliant interface. Give the system host controller.

The BQ3055 provides software-based first- and second-level security protection in the event of overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, and overcharging, as well as hardware-based protection for discharge overcurrent, charge and discharge shorts.

SHA-1 authentication with secure memory for authentication code storage can unquestionably identify true battery packs.

This compact 30-lead TSSOP package maximizes functionality and battery measurement applications while significantly reducing cost and smart battery size.
