Each device uses a fanless embedded industrial computer UNO-3282 as an internal device, 19" TFT LCD industrial touch flat panel display FPM-3191G as front-end human-machine interface. FPM-3191G stainless steel housing and NEMA4/IP65 aluminum front panel design, can be Realize the normal operation of the equipment in harsh and high dust environments. In addition, the high-performance embedded industrial computer UNO-3282 has a powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and has strong expansion capability. It can optionally use 2 PCI expansion slots or 1 PCIe and 1 PCI slot to connect device-level PLCs. The UNO-3282 has Gigabit Ethernet ports with packet capabilities that can be connected to Ethernet monitoring devices. Its network redundancy and backup power SRAM can ensure the consistency of the Ethernet network, even in the case of power failure or Ethernet network failure, the data can still be transmitted stably. The equipment layer, tobacco manufacturing equipment and PLCs are connected via the ProfiBus protocol. UNO-3282 collects data from these PLCs and transmits them to the central control room. The data is finally displayed on the industrial flat panel display FPM-3191G, the user can easily read the displayed information, and can complete the command transmission through a simple touch operation. This time, our customer is a branded tobacco manufacturer in China. Before cooperating with Advantech, the customer's production line has been automated by programmable logic controllers (PLCs). In spite of this, they still need to rely on manpower to calculate the quantity of cigarettes and other materials. Their engineers perform data analysis by manually examining and recording data stored in PLCs.
In this project, Advantech uses a PC-based monitoring device and installs it into the manufacturing equipment. The relevant data is then displayed on the touch screen and transmitted to the control center, effectively reducing errors and improving management efficiency.
In addition, IPCs need a PCI expansion slot for card insertion and connection with the PLCs of the production line.
