Polysilicon prices continue to oscillate low

From the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association’s Silicon Division, it was learned that domestic polysilicon prices continued to be around 200,000 yuan/ton this week, while a small amount of transaction prices in the market had even reached 170,000 yuan/ton.

A number of polysilicon manufacturers surveyed by the Silicon Industry Branch stated that many companies in China have suspended the sale of their products. The offer of 200,000 yuan per ton in the market is only an industry reference price. As the price of polysilicon fell rapidly, the price of trichlorosilane, which is one of the raw materials for producing polysilicon, also slipped to around 6500-7000 yuan/ton. Compared with the previous peak price of 10,000 yuan / ton, the cost of polysilicon basically equivalent to a drop of 3.5-4.5 yuan / ton, coupled with many companies' steam costs and personnel benefits fell, the overall cost of polysilicon has decreased compared to the beginning of the year 5 - 60,000/ton. Some companies have said that if the market price can be raised again to 300,000 yuan / ton will consider the restoration of production.

It is understood that, as of now, the global battery inventory has dropped to 8-9GW, although the inventory is still enough for the next few months to digest the market, but the decline in inventory is a necessary prerequisite for the market to warmer, is expected to gradually reduce with the downstream inventory, The price of polysilicon will also slowly pick up. Nevertheless, in the short term, at least in the recent 1 to 2 months, the price of polysilicon will probably remain low in the price range of 200,000 yuan/ton.
