This controller provides deterministic communication and simultaneous measurements based on a standard Ethernet network, which not only improves performance, but also helps increase productivity and flexibility. NI is the first vendor on the market to introduce industrial embedded hardware that supports TSN, the next evolution of the IEEE 802.11 Ethernet standard. The introduction of this controller is part of NI's ongoing investment in the TSN program. Engineers can use TSN technology to synchronize network-based distributed systems, eliminating the need for expensive synchronous cables. As the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) continues to be deployed in industries such as automotive, oil and gas, research and aerospace, it becomes more challenging for distributed nodes to collect accurate, reliable and synchronized data. Therefore, companies must keep up with the pace of technological development to ensure that their systems meet these changing requirements. This intuitive driver, combined with the openness of the NI Linux real-time operating system, means users can continue to leverage Linux's vast IP ecosystem, such as Security-Enhanced Linux (SE-Linux).
